Current Automotive - Jeep Renegade has a length of 3.9 meters with a height of 1.5 meters which is the smallest SUV sold in the United States. However, Jeep prepares a smaller size of Renegade and will be assembled in Europe. Compared Jeep Grand Cherokee with a length of 4.8 meters and 1.8 meters tall look petite. The model is not far from the Suzuki Jimny model that is marketed in Indonesia and the same little jeep.
Jeep CEO Mike Manley confirmed the plan in an interview with Automotive News. Baby Jeep, according to him, is very close to reality and will be marketed in Europe. Meanwhile, the baby will not be sold in the United States. The new Jeep is reportedly to be built at the FCA plant at Pomigliano in Italy. The plant will use the same facilities where the Fiat Panda mini car is currently assembled. Reports indicate that Jeep has thrown the idea of a baby SUV at the Pomigliano FCA plant since early 2017, and will later take advantage of the Panda and 500 platforms. The next generation Panda plant, meanwhile, will move from Italy to Poland.
- Panda will be moved from Pomigliano around 2019-2020, "said FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne at the Geneva auto show 2017. At that time, Marchionne also suggested that the Pomigliano factory could assemble a more complex car than the Panda, hinting at a new Jeep. Of course, if produced, baby Jeep still retains DNA on all previous Jeep models
